Senior GM Becomes National Sales Manager for Top Paper Manufacturer
Customer Mandate: A leading paper manufacturing company that offers a wide array of paper products and premium packaging boards was in search of a National Sales Manager – Retail for their company who would report to the Chief of Marketing and Sales, who would be accountable for yearly /monthly revenue targets and driving business growth across the region. The company is the pioneer of branded paper in India and exports its Branded Copier Papers and Packaging Boards to 35 countries covering the USA, Middle East, Southeast Asia, SAARC, and African countries. So they were in need of a person who would explore new opportunities with existing B2C customers to drive geographical and sector-specific growth by becoming an expert in their evolving needs. The position demanded a person who would engage with strategic organizations in the community/ sector to establish brand awareness and relationships with existing and potential customers.
Solution: The Kontempore executive search team got engaged in understanding the corporate culture and market trends and built the ideal candidate profile based on a deep insight into their business and the market landscape. The team focused on candidates from the FMCG sector who would have the ability to oversee the development of marketing intelligence by evaluating industry standards, best practices, common tools, and trends as well as implementing them in the company. The Kontempore team used platforms like LinkedIn and Naukri.com to search for profiles who would have experience in coordinating with the marketing team and leading marketing efforts in the B2C segment. At first, 24 profiles were sent to the company and 15 candidates were shortlisted. Out of them, 2 candidates were selected for the final round of interviews. The candidate who was finalized for the role used to work as a Senior General Manager in a company that is a leader in Fast Moving Consumer Durables including products like Fans, Sewing Machines, Home Appliances, and Power Products. The candidate was responsible for research, product shortlisting, vendor identification and evaluation, product testing, product launch, training, sales, and marketing in his previous company.
